Literal Labs makes it possible to deploy powerful AI without GPUs, without data centres, and without sacrificing accuracy. Our training platform, ModelMill, produces Logic-Based Networks: a fundamentally different class of AI that is fast, energy-efficient, explainable, and deterministic.

Today's AI is expensive, power-hungry, and difficult to trust. Deploying it at the edge — in an industrial sensor, a vehicle, a water network — demands hardware most operators don't have. And when a model does make a decision, it frequently cannot say why. In regulated industries, that is not a footnote. It is a barrier.

Literal Labs was founded to solve all three problems at once. Not by optimising existing AI, but by replacing the algorithm entirely.

The result is [Logic-Based Networks](https://www.literal-labs.ai/logical-ai/). Trained through [ModelMill](https://www.literal-labs.ai/modelmill/), LBNs run on any 32-bit processor without GPUs, without data centres, and without compromise on accuracy. They are fast, energy-efficient, inherently explainable, and fully deterministic. The same input always yields the same output.

Spun out of Newcastle University in 2023, Literal Labs is on a mission to be the world leader in compute and energy-efficient AI.
