# We're still an AI startup to watch Last updated: 11 August 2025 We are delighted to share that Literal Labs has once again been featured in _EE Times_’ prestigious “Silicon 100 Startups Worth Watching” — this time for 2025. Being recognised [two years in a row](https://www.literal-labs.ai/press/best-ai-startups-2024.html) places us amongst a select group shaping the future of electronics, semiconductors, and AI, and affirms the growing importance of our mission to deliver explainable, energy-efficient AI. The 2025 edition, curated by Peter Clarke, offers a panoramic view of the industry — seeing the forest as well as the trees. This year’s list highlights several notable shifts: * **Application focus:** AI, quantum, and photonics dominate; there is a marked transition from core AI to edge AI deployments. * **Novel architectures:** New computing approaches continue to emerge; alongside peers such as Vaire Computing, Normal Computing, and Fractile, Literal Labs is noted for advancing logic-based AI tailored for constrained environments. * **Security and memory innovation:** Progress in FHE (e.g., Niobium Microsystems, Fabric Cryptography) and next-generation memory (e.g., RAAAM Memory Technologies, Biomemory) points to a vibrant component ecosystem. * **Automotive entrants:** Despite sector headwinds, new names such as Blickfeld and Ethernovia have joined the arena. * **Geographical shifts:** The United States remains the largest contributor but is down circa 20%; China sees a sharper decline; Europe surges by roughly 80%; and Israel maintains a strong share. Our inclusion follows last year’s recognition of our unique approach to AI, particularly our work with [logic-based AI](https://www.literal-labs.ai/logical-ai/) (LBNs). Operating on principles of propositional logic, LBNs can be dramatically more energy-efficient than neural networks while remaining transparent and straightforward to validate. We extend our congratulations to every company featured in this year’s list — many of whom are collaborators, customers, and friends.
